It's true that the XC90 is a luxurious midsize SUV with plenty of style and refinement. But did you know it is a surprising addition for the summer? It features plenty of versatility, is available with equipment perfect for the season, and offers an outstanding selection of powertrains that will lead you to virtually anywhere in Canada.
Here, we explore the 2021 Volvo XC90.
The 2021 Volvo XC90 has the versatility and convenience for your adventures
During the summer, a luxury SUV earns its title with more than just style and premium equipment. The XC90 seats up to 7 and provides over 1,800 litres of cargo volume with rear seats folded. If your XC90 does not carry a full load of passengers, the configurable seats will help balance your summer gear and passenger needs.
The easy loading/unloading luggage compartment is available with accessories for the warm season, but the XC90 also includes fun accessories like a cooling compartment and many other features designed for the great outdoors.
The 2021 Volvo XC90 has the right power and efficiency for family trips
All XC90 models have an impressive towing capacity of 2,250 kg, which creates plenty of opportunities to bring along your favourite camper, watercraft, or even a trailer packed with even more gear. This multiplies your access to summer fun.
Two all-gas engines and one hybrid are available in the XC90 family. A 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder provides 250 horsepower in the Momentum grade while providing outstanding consumption, earning a rating of 11.5 L/100 km in the city and 8.4 L/100 km on the highway. The T6 powertrain increases output to 316 horsepower.
The XC90 Recharge provides maximum power and efficiency. The T8 Twin Engine hybrid system generates 400 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque while burning just 9.1 L/100 km in the city and 8.4 L/100 km on the highway.
All-gas models feature a wading depth of 450 mm, making shallow creek crossings simple. Advanced AWD sends torque where needed no matter the road surface. This adds safety and performance on changing road surfaces while heading to your favourite seasonal destinations.
