The 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge has just gotten a long list of significant upgrades that include more power, more electric range, and more features than ever before. The XC90 Recharge now has more range than any other plug-in hybrid midsize SUV and it also delivers a lot more power. Let's take a closer look.
The 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge gets a larger battery and more electric range
The 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge swaps out it's 11.1-kWh battery for a larger 18.8-kWh battery. This larger battery doubles the available all-electric range in the 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge. With 58 km of all-electric range, the XC90 Recharge offers more all-electric driving capability than the BMW X5 PHEV or Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid. More importantly, this improvement in range means that most XC90 Recharge owners should be able to complete their entire daily or weekly commute without needing a single drop of fuel if they charge their XC90 Recharge in the evening. If you drive less than 50 km every day, you can expect to not use a single drop of fuel. The improvement in range also leads to an improvement in performance.
Indeed, the 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge now offers 455 hp. That is as much as the Cayenne E-Hybrid and considerably more than the X5 PHEV. This is courtesy of a more powerful rear electric motor that turns the XC90 Recharge into not only the most powerful midsize SUVs in its segment, but also the most powerful midsize SUVs Volvo has ever built.
The 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge will also offer more technologies such as an available one-pedal driving system which should be offered shortly. This is the same XC90 Recharge that you have come to know and love, but with a lot more range and a lot better performance. Give us a call today to learn more.
