The 2026 Volvo XC60 introduces several updates focused on improving the vehicle’s technology and user interface. These changes reflect Volvo’s efforts to keep its lineup current with practical, user-focused innovations.
Infotainment System Upgrade
The XC60 now runs on Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon Cockpit Platform. This provides over twice the processing power of the previous system, with significantly improved graphics performance. The system is more responsive when switching between functions and can handle multiple applications at once without slowing down.
The new platform supports an updated interface designed for ease of use while driving. It features larger touch targets, simplified menus, and displays that adjust based on context, such as navigation or media use.
Larger, Higher-Resolution Display
The central touchscreen has been increased to 11.2 inches and now offers 21% higher pixel density. This makes maps, text, and menus easier to read and interact with. The free-standing screen is integrated into the dashboard in a way that maintains clear visibility and usability in different lighting conditions.
Built-in Google Services
Google Maps, Google Assistant, and access to the Google Play Store are integrated directly into the vehicle’s system. This setup provides real-time traffic updates, voice control for various functions, and the ability to download compatible apps without needing to connect a smartphone.
Over-the-Air Software Updates
The XC60 supports over-the-air (OTA) updates, allowing software improvements to be installed remotely. Updates can include new features, changes to the interface, or performance enhancements. These updates are applied automatically during scheduled inactive periods.
Cabin Air Filtration
An updated air purification system monitors the quality of incoming air and filters out particles, allergens, and pollutants. It automatically adjusts its operation based on outside air conditions to maintain a clean cabin environment.
Optional Audio System
An upgraded Bowers & Wilkins audio system is available. It includes signal processing that adjusts audio output based on cabin layout and seating position. Speaker components have been improved to enhance clarity across all sound ranges.
Device Charging and Connectivity
Wireless phone charging has been improved for efficiency and heat management. The charging pad supports a range of phone sizes and cases. Multiple USB ports are available throughout the cabin, with a mix of USB-A and USB-C options for fast device charging.
