In order to keep you and your passengers healthy and comfortable, Volvo now offers the Advanced Air Cleaner on all of its 60 and 90-series vehicles.
Protection against allergies
The air purifying system offered in new Volvo vehicles can help you deal with your seasonal allergies or your asthma by protecting you from tree, grass, and weed pollen that is carried in the air. By using a synthetic filter, 99.9% of this pollen can be prevented from entering the cabin of the vehicle through the ventilation system. This earned it the approval of Allergy Standards Limited, an independent certification program.
Protection against pollution
The Advanced Air Cleaner offers better protection against environmental pollution to drivers and passengers of many new Volvo vehicles by removing 95% of the PM 2.5 particulates from the air that enters the cabin. This is possible due to the ionization process that purifies the air inside the climate control system. In order to prove the system’s efficiency, a sensor constantly measures the level of fine particles present in the air outside the vehicle and inside the vehicle. Both values are displayed on the center screen so that you can decide when to activate and deactivate the purification function. This is particularly beneficial for you and your passenger’s well-being if you often drive in crowded areas such as large cities since this is where fine particulate contaminants are in the highest concentration.
Protection against viruses
Not only is the Advanced Air Cleaner capable of protecting you from pollen and pollution, it can also make sure that viruses don’t enter your Volvo via the air conditioning system. The filter and the ionization process are capable of eliminating 97% of the harmful viruses that pass through the system as well as 95% of the viruses that are already present inside the cabin when the system is activated.
