The Volvo XC40 Recharge is powered by a state-of-the-art electric powertrain that delivers 402 horsepower and 486 lb-ft of torque. This is more than the Polestar 2’s base and mid-range trims, which deliver 221 hp and 228 hp, and basically equivalent to the top trim in terms of performance.
However, the Polestar 2’s base models come with front-wheel drive, whereas all Volvo XC40 Recharge models come with standard AWD.
