Volvo’s 100% electric 2022 XC40 Recharge will be significantly more affordable this year. Volvo announced a starting price of $59,950 for the new Recharge, a $5,000 drop over the 2021 model. Better yet, the new Volvo XC40 Recharge doesn’t require any compromise despite a lower starting price.
As a matter of fact, the 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge actually delivers more range than the 2021 model. Thanks to a reworking of the engine software and the addition of a heat pump for winter, the new XC40 Recharge offers 359 kilometres of range, a 24-kilometre jump over the 2021 model which offered 335 kilometres of range.
If you are a 2021 Volvo XC40 Recharge owner, don’t worry. Volvo is offering an update to the vehicle’s software which means you will also benefit from this improved range at no extra cost.
The Volvo XC40 Recharge delivers two electric motors that each produce 201 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque to the front and rear axle. This translates into a total of 402 horsepower and 486 pound-feet of torque, meaning that you reach 100 km/h in under 5.0 seconds.
The XC40 Recharge is electric, but it is a lot more than that. It is a small luxury SUV perfect for the city that delivers comfort and refinement while also being a blast to drive and versatile. And now, it has more range and is more accessible than ever before!
